John Dee and the Empire of Angels - Enochian Magick and the Occult Roots of the Modern World

I first came across John Dee while listening to Terrence McKenna podcasts, years ago in Hong Kong. At that time I learned he was the original 007 for Queen Elizabeth and an alchemist or more accurately a Sage.

I first purchased this book after listening to a podcast with the author over here, and it took me a long time to read, as it's crammed with esoteric knowledge that is vast, visual and layered. I'll never be able to retain and recall that kind of knowledge, but I know a man who can, so he's reading this book next.

The main point of this post is because the security services are the most concealed group for using all kinds of magick from Chaos to Enochian or Operative. While researching the subject on Wikispooks I discovered that the article on the occult and SIS was written by none other than former Home Secretary Michael Howard.

If that whooshes over your head there's not much for you here, except to add that I don't think the full story of John Dee is currently that accurate, as he was careful who he told what.

Also, if we look at another SIS asset who was into the occult, there's Aleister Crowley. Both he and John Dee died quite impoverished and so there's that when entertaining thoughts of exploring occult rituals and so forth.

Terence McKenna's Reading List

It's been so long since I posted a Terence McKenna recording but this one has stood out in the last year so I've uploaded it for people to enjoy.

Was Carlos Castaneda a CIA Social Engineering Asset?

The only reason FOIA requests are being refused on Terence McKenna and Carlos Casteneda for National Security Reasons is that they were assets of the CIA. The CIA has released the files on John Lennon and Mafia bosses and we all know that mickey mouse Shamans are the favourite asset of the CIA to engineer deadheads who talk big but never actually do anything.

Here's my criticism of Jan Irving who hasn't got the balls to call me disinfo to my face in an interview where I will tackle his empty claims.

Footnote that sunshine.

Jay Weidner Talks About Terence McKenna's CIA/FBI Connections

Most people still can't get their head round McKenna being an asset of the state. That's possibly because of the varying degrees of State mind-control ranging from harmonics to dissociative pain and in Terence's case, encouraging others to take drugs.

The thinking behind this we suspect is because then you wont be an activist, or actually do something about the clear manipulation taking place higher up the food chain.

In my own case though it was the DMT that made me an activist, so the CIA and FBI messed up on that one.

I'm pluralist about McKenna. Some things he talked about were great, others not so great. Very few people are black and white and that includes the epistemological cartoons that the media portray of Hitler or Rahm Emanuel's father whose specialism was terrorist bus bombings for extremist Jewish groups.

What Sort Of Chap Is Jan Irvin of @GnosticMedia ?

I've said before that there is some ambiguity about Terence McKenna's work for the CIA or FBI.

Unlike Jan Irvin I think Jim Morrison's "The End" is no more important than "Love Street".

While airing my views on Facebook Jan Irvin lost the plot and started attacking me with vulgar language and threats privately in direct messages. Unbeknownst to him I was cutting and pasting his hollow abuse into the public forum until he realized what I was doing and blocked me for telling the truth.

A topic he claims he has a stranglehold on when not relying on ad hominem attacks

LOL if you're into the toilet end of silent laughs tapped out on keyboards....

Terence McKenna's CIA Collaboration

Jan Irvin has made the mistake of thinking brute logic and rational arguments are more persuasive than being charming, witty, kind and humble. Ever since he picked up on the trivium as a tool for determining higher resolution on reality he has become haughty and pompous. I wouldn't be surprised if his girlfriend had left him in and his mum doesn't love him so much (just kidding).

However that doesn't mean he has not done us a huge service by outing Terence McKenna as on the CIA books. I know that will not compute for many of you. How can a man who evangelized magic mushrooms and DMT be collaborating with the CIA?

Well we don't know the full extent of his relationship but if you are mature enough to sit down with the evidence and determine for yourself, you will see without question that reason says he was promoting memes and narratives that were not always of his own choice though they may have often overlapped with his own views.

My challenge in coming to terms with this information began with the Aquarian Conspiracy that I blogged back here. I simply couldn't digest that the 60's counter culture revolution was started by the CIA. All those hippies, drugs and free sex was another way for the powers that be to manage a chunk of the population so that they thought other people's ideas were their own when in fact institutions like the Esalen Institute peddle these memes or cultural movements and are even responsible for propagating the 2012 date as a point of cyclical change. It can lead to large groups of people becoming ineffective dreamers. The New Age movement has been susceptible to this and has handed over much over their sovereignty and dignity to channelled messages (though they are interesting to analyse for meta narratives and obvious manipulation)

It's hard to grasp why something so convincing could contain falsehoods but I can rattle off a number of issues that corroborate McKenna as CIA collaborator and cultural narrative driver. I will always enjoy most of his work but from now on I can tune out when he waffles on about transhumanism and eschatology or transformational objects at the end of time. I still think something is happening but I'm more responsible for it's outcome than Terence McKenna and actually that's self evident to those who follow me on Twitter where I put in a lot of work pulling back the veil of corporate and institutional lying in the media and so forth.

I will continue to enjoy Terence McKenna on many many subjects for his stimulating and extensive knowledge but maybe like you I put too much trust in him (and my own judgement) and so for the opportunity to stand up on my own two feet we have Jan Irvin to thank.

This doesn't mean entheogens are bad. They're bigger than any CIA cultural back burner pimping narrative pilot-light in case a wider cultural meme is needed in the future. It also doesn't mean 2012 isn't the start of great transformational change. It is all around us. I suspect Terence would be smiling a bit at this but it's fair to say his smuggling of marijuana into the United States as traveller around Asia was probably used as blackmail to keep his ass out jail.

I suspect the mushroom told him the error of his ways one day too. Hat's off to Jan Irvin. Great courage and persistence is required to ground our idols instead of leaving them carelessly and eternally in the heavens. None of us are that good.

Here is the CIA Freedom of information act release that confirms the CIA had a relationship with Terence that they do not wish to share with the public.

A video explaining my latest short article on "How Darwin, Huxley, and the Esalen Institute launched the 2012 and psychedelic revolutions -- and began one of the largest mind control operations in history." Located at:

This video is the first to reveal the background origins of the Esalen institute through Aldous and Julian Huxley, both grandson's of Charles Darwin's "Bulldog" Sir. Thomas Henry Huxley. The Huxleys helped found the Esalen institute to promote Julian Huxley's eugenics, humanism, transhumanism and feminism to manipulate middle class Americans into following their agenda through psychedelics and the new age movement.

This is not to say that psychedelics or entheogens don't have value, it just means that devious people have usurped them and created a false movement to fool people into thinking that they've completed their task of freeing their minds.

As McKenna says in one quote found shortly after we film this video:

"This was in '67 when I was a sophomore in college. The interest in altered states of consciousness came simply from, I don't know whether I was a precocious kid or what, but I was very early into the New York literary scene, and even though I lived in a small town in Colorado, I subscribed to the Village Voice, and there I encountered propaganda about LSD, mescaline, and all these experiments that the late beatniks were involved in. Then I read The Doors of Perception and Heaven and Hell, and it just rolled from there. That was what really put me over. ***I respected Huxley as a novelist, and I was slowly reading everything he'd ever written, and when I got to The Doors of Perception I said to myself, "There's something going on here for sure.***"

Terence McKenna - Timewave Zero 2012

It's been so long since I heard this and as I tried to explain a bit of it earlier today I thought I'd listen to a short edit of the story behind Terence McKenna's Timewave Zero. There's still something there. Something mysterious.

But as we now know Terence McKenna proselytized the mushroom without taking any for many years during his speaking career after a bad trip. But as I say, there's still something to this story. We shall see right?

Terence McKenna - The Definitive UFO Talk

McKenna's talking career began around this time when friends encouraged him to do his thing while being recorded. This is one of the earliest from 1983 and it's also one of the best. Great topic and only sixty minutes for those who can't make time for his weekend long recordings.

2012, Terence McKenna, The Huxleys, Darwinism, Drugs and Evolution

Jan Irving has written an excellent conspiracy theory piece on the connection between Terence McKenna and a trumped up eschatology 2012, Esalen-proselytized, new age spiritualism. I say theory because he pulls back at the last moment and suggests Terence may have just been a useful idiot. My own view is he took a few Esalen cheques to put food on the table as the man lived frugally and was too broke to pay for the laser knife surgery he needed to remove the brain tumour at the end of his life. God knows we've all worked a few agendas to pay the bills haven't we? I have. Read this example.

However Jan's piece is well researched, makes strong and repeated connections and raises important issues that I had never come across before including the influence on Terence of Jesuit priest and philosopher Pierre Teilhard de Chardin who was also responsible for the Piltdown man hoax to sell Darwin's theory of evolution. The similarities between McKenna's Novelty and Complexity theory which links directly into his 2012 timewave zero work is too close to Pierre Teilhard de Chardin's Omega Point Theory. See for yourself.

Omega Point is a term coined by the French Jesuit Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881–1955) to describe a maximum level ofcomplexity and consciousness towards which he believed the universe was evolving.
In this theory, developed by Teilhard in The Future of Man (1950), the universe is constantly developing towards higher levels of material complexity and consciousness, a theory of evolution that Teilhard called the Law of Complexity/Consciousness. For Teilhard, the universe can only move in the direction of more complexity and consciousness if it is being drawn by a supreme point of complexity and consciousness.
Thus Teilhard postulates the Omega Point as this supreme point of complexity and consciousness, which in his view is the actual cause for the universe to grow in complexity and consciousness. In other words, the Omega Point exists as supremely complex and conscious, transcendent and independent of the evolving universe.
Teilhard argued that the Omega Point resembles the Christian Logos, namely Christ, who draws all things into himself, who in the words of the Nicene Creed, is "God from God", "Light from Light", "True God from true God," and "through him all things were made."
Teilhard's term recurs in later writings, such as those of John Godolphin Bennett (1965), John David Garcia (1971), Paolo Soleri(1981), Frank Tipler (1994), and Ray Kurzweil, as well as in science fiction literature.

McKenna's Stoned Ape Versus ET Mushroom Theory

There's a point in the Bill Hicks movie where dying form cancer he takes magic mushrooms and with his friend has an ET contact moment. I mention it because McKenna talked about his experiences many times but here he outlines the science for why Psilocybin makes a more credible case for ET contact than the pedestrian attempts of scanning the cosmos for radio waves. It's not only a wilder theory than his stoned ape rap (which was always about encouraging people to explore conciousness) it's better.

Terence McKenna - Opening the Doors of Creativity

I've heard this many times but never seen this video upload. It's great to see the smile behind the voice that you can hear in his introduction. It's worthwhile knowing that Terence said that when talking to a crowd he was channelling something other than himself though he felt uncomfortable with the word channelling. You decided.

Terence McKenna - Global Perspectives & Psychedelic Poetics

A great talk by Terence McKenna. I have to say my own DMT experience couldn't have been further from his description but I was transdimensional for about twenty minutes and his trips were around five. I may have got the dose wrong (I wrote about the visual side here) but I brought back a few more details than three dimensional language.

He's talking to a UFO and crop circle crowd here.

McKenna's Stoned Ape Theory (Mankind's Maddening Mushroom Mistake)

In between the polarized ideologies of scientific materialism and magic mushroom metaphysics stands the brain. It's a prank or giggle of cosmic dimensions when weighing up issues of free will. Read my comment over at Dangerous Minds (if you wish).

Science Thinks It's A Meta Theory

Which is a problem that wont go away until materialist science recognises this ego trip for what it is. It's no superior to the voodoo of religious manipulation unless it defers to this area of self awareness. Till then science indignantly refuses to acknowledge the unique and unrepeatable.

Terence McKenna On The Permission To Abstract From Nature That Printed Text Imposes

I've always wondered why there is so little scientific evaluation of the effects of Television when it was introduced. I have no idea how populations went from spending an hour or so around or with the radio to six and half hours a day glued to a screen without the scientific establishment doing the appropriate analysis or even pointing out that in terms of drugs it's as toxic as heroin given the stare-reflex it solicits disconnecting entire countries from the actions of their military abroad and the far reaching consequences of their consumption at home.

Terence draws on Alduous Huxley and Marshal McLuhan in this short audio clip. In some ways it's also about the art of advantages to drawing.

Split Worlds & Synchronicity (The Great Time Stream Bifurcation/Fractal Soliton Of Improbability)

The first time I heard Terence McKenna talking about the Earth splitting into two (from his Rites of Spring talks) I thought it was an amazing story and I had to hit the dictionary to find out what a demiurge is. These days I can barely move for demiurge references from John Lash's Gnosticism to Neil Kramer's spiritual talks.

However when I listened to Dolores Cannon repeat a similar story about the Earth splitting into two I was struck by how two people completely unconnected to each other (with Terence dying long before Dolores over ten years ago) had the same story to tell despite coming to it from completely different universes as far as methodology is concerned. Terence in shamanic trance and Dolores through her hypnotherapy past life regressions all around the world.

I lost the Terence audio and have been looking for it forever, but a reader sent a clip recommendation and there it was. Even if you don't buy the story, It's a great story. I urge you to listen to it and if you enjoy the full talk I've posted it in full below. Also for those who like a bit of science Terence was actually using language that isn't completely made up. The question we should ask ourselves is how did he know?
