Impending Food Shortages

As a former marketing and advertising kind of guy, I take a close interest in retail layouts, products and promotions.

My first question during the lockdown was how Poundland remained open as it must have been the biggest revenue boon ever for them, making money while other retailers were closed for the scamdemic.

For the open minded the documentation was published before the plandemic. Event 201 is just one search term  along with patents and orders for COVID supplies made long before the phenomenon itself. People who are invested in the mainstream media deception appear psychologically incapable of researching the abundant material available. I feel disappointed when given fake news but I'm never triggered.

However, I can trigger the fuck out of any Vaxxed/Save Ukraine womble.

Don't believe me? Send me a message and I'll arrange the zoom so we can see who is unstable.

I've repeatedly referred to the revelation of the method on this blog. The controlling pseudo elites must show the flock what they're going to do in order to have their free will to then be subjugated or just plain murdered as the Midazolam and Morphine crowd discovered when Granny was taken-out under the auspices of healthcare.

I know a multimillionaire who went to hospital for insomnia and was knocked out, intubated and for months begged for help knowing he was being killed and then when they didn't die (physically a very strong man), he was shipped to the loved-up ward and the good cop, bad cop psychology worked a treat. He delivered them flowers afterwards, that's how powerful trauma based mind control is. Remember trauma based mind control? I've over ten years writing on the subject on this blog.

But back to Poundland. They dismantled their floor plan and where products were packed to the rafters, they've widened the aisles and have halved their inventory at least. The halving is because they can't get the products from China but also there's that deliberate commercial shipping backlog which is just as synthetic as the fires at foodplants.

If you think this is a batshit conspiracy theory, then stand by your principals and don't panic shop. They took the piss with the toilet rolls a couple of years ago but this next stage is for keeps. [We both know the normies will panic shop when the inevitable panic-chapter kicks in again].

All of the above is a pretext for a hybrid depopulation plan coupled with biometric tracking of those left behind to serve the cattle owning class. The trick is to do it slow enough so the herd don't stampede.

It's so obvious.

Update:  The arson continues.

Does Taramasalata Freeze

This post isn't my usual blogging fare but I am fascinated with online super-niche questions and then getting some feedback in Google Analytics.

The short answer is yes it does freeze but the thawing process separates any oils or liquids and so the taramasalata or roe pate as our U.S. friends call it requires mixing up again or even better re-blending, if one were to have a dinner party for example.

I probably wouldn't try to freeze taramasalata again and recommend buying it fresh and eating as soon as possible.

Veganism Round Table - Mark Devlin

Fried leaks in butter, are awesome.

Technically I should be looking at a dairy cow alternative.

Intermittent Fasting - The Ultimate Overview | Conor Santry

Another excellent video, this time from Conor Santry proselytizing the life changing effects of intermittent fasting. One of the cognitive dissonance effects of the subject is that people can't get their heads around fasting being a lifestyle.

Surely we'd just wither away?

No is the answer and in fact if we study the growing body of health and fitness nuts who are adopting it, supplemented with the astonishing body of information on how good it is for the human body I think it's clear that the easiest solution to one of life's most burdensome issues (overeating, body shape etc) can be tackled with the simplest solution.

I lasted 6 days last week just fasting non stop and it allowed me to squeeze into some new trousers I'd already become to big for with overeating.

How To Do Intermittent Fasting And Never Get Hungry

I'm not suggesting mildly narcissist Hollywood wannabes are a good role model for all intellectual and personal development, but they are often obsessed with the latest information that works in terms of dietary and exercise information.

We're constantly bombarded by food imagery, and if living on my apartment floor, also surrounded 24/7 by some of the best chefs in Hong Kong, creating the most incredible aromas of tasty cooking wafting through the window. Last night the scent of gorgeous roast potatoes was heavy in the air.

I realise that makes no sense at all in Causeway Bay but it is as it is.

The only way to overcome this temptation to stuff my face is to deprogram with these excellent informative videos, and I think you'll find this one is excellent.

I'll go so far as to say that intermittent fasting is the single most interesting cult I've come across, and that it will be massive in the years to come and, forever after, for people seeking ways to overcome modern health and dietary challenges. Everything makes a lot of sense when considering what the human body was designed to do in an evolutionary setting, unlike that updated paleo information I came across recently.

NB: Creepy isn't it, how close Dave Dees illustration used above echoes the protest in North Dakota of Standing Rock Sioux Indians protesting an oil pipeline that was diverted away from white neighbourhoods and routed through their ancestral burial lands.

Water Fasting Done Right - Dr Daniel Pompa & Dr. Derrick Dempsey

I'm on Day Five of fasting. I've had a nibble of an apple or pear here and there but no meals. The only downside so far is I seem to need 3 hours of sleep at the moment, and I'm too chicken to go to bed at 3am to see if that's the case.

Not everybody has the same physiology, health and metabolism so I'm just going by how I feel. I intend to take up intermittent fasting when I break fast but I have a feeling I can go a week or two at the moment, possibly more.

There's so much great information out there on the subject, and I found in the early days that watching a video or just listening to them while I worked gave me a boost to stay the course.

The Power of Intermittent Fasting

Lately I've put on more weight than ever in my life. It's my fantastic cooking naturally. I have been able to tuck away ginormous saucepans of amazing home cooked food and load the plates up with rice too, and then just keep grazing all day frankly.

I can't leave my own cooking alone.

Like everyone, I didn't want to stop eating as it's a reward mechanism. However, a friend has been raving about intermittent fasting. It's so simple that it doesn't make sense to begin with, but once you understand how simple it is, it's quite an extraordinary concept. It also costs fuck all, saves money and works quicker than anything.

I've gone the full Monty and just stopped eating so I'm going to see how long I can last without food (third day so far) and then I'll switch to the intermittent fasting, but I've seen the fastest results already. I find watching the videos keeps me focused.

I've also given up smoking again so I'm constantly looking for distractions, but it's an interesting combination giving up food and smoking at the same time.

Chipotle's TV Ad Raises Factory Farming, Steroids and Antibiotics In Food

I can't imagine the Chipotle are completely farm fresh organic ingredients but this new ad does address the hidden ingredients and suffering that go into most food that is advertised on television.

I don't see this Chipotle video as a commercial at over three minutes but it is nevertheless superb storytelling and hopefully a glimpse of how the food industry will have to respond to growing claims that they mostly sell low grade ingredients unfit for consumption.

Millions of hits for this ad so it's touching a nerve beyond the advertising echo chamber who have latched onto it given 95% of their output is low concious communications.

Corporate Media Silent Over The Hottest Story On The Planet

Worldwide protests against Monsanto completely ignored by the media.

Monsanto are a corporation, the media are corporations. They take care of each other while the most dangerous company on the planet plots to control who can grow food and who can't. You need to wake up if this is lost on you. Time is running out.

Wheat Belly

William Davis - The Dangers of Wheat - by Red Ice Radio April 29 2012.
Henrik Palmgren interviews Dr. William Davis, cardiologist and seeker-of-truth in health - "exposing "healthy whole grains" for the incredibly destructive genetic monsters they've become...."
He explains how modern wheat is an opiate and appetite stimulant. Dr. Davis also breaks down the internal components of wheat and how they interact with the body in negative ways linked to a slew of health problems. He also explains the great lie of gluten free bread.

Have The Banking Elite Tampered With Food To Keep Us Stupid?

A very informed talk on the subject. The interview is a little bit negative and over simplistic but I think the post title's question is a no brainer. There's a lot information I had never come across before in this interview with Dr Curtis Duncan, including penis size problems and why PVC dildos are a really bad idea. I thought I'd include those to lure you in.

It's because I care.

Here's the blurb: July 25, 2012–Dr. Curtis Duncan is a holistic health expert, herbalist and avid researcher. He will discuss the feminization of males and the chemicals that are behind the reason why testosterone levels have been declining, impotence, dropped sperm counts, smaller penises, genital birth defects, autism, ADHD, cancer, low libido and more.

These chemicals also have gender bending effects and cause men to act and behave like women and women to act and behave like men, even altering sexual preference. We’ll also discuss the estrogen mimicking chemicals that are behind female infertility, miscarriages, cancer and more. Curtis talks about the endocrine system, endocrine disrupting chemicals, the companies and people behind gender bending chemicals, chemical effects on sexuality and the conspiracy behind it all. ~Radio 3Fourteen

Soul Food Mahanakorn

It's really hard for me to get excited by Thai restaurants in Bangkok when the street food is so often tastier, more fun to eat and inexpensive. My palate is often more Thai than a lot of Bangkokians so the idea of enduring napkins, starched service and something more bland than my taste prefers isn't my first choice of eating environment. However about a year ago I started following Jarret Wrisley on Twitter and followed the ups and downs of establishing a business in this city for a while, as he wrote for the Atlantic before creating a bar restaurant on Thong Lor. I've now eaten there a few times and the food and atmosphere has been so exceptional that I'm going to say it's the only place I can authentically recommend if guests insist on Thai.

The menu at Soulfood Mahanakorn has a care and attention to it such that newcomers wont be stretched too far, and old hands wont be left unimpressed. That's quite an unusual harmonic to achieve with Thai food in Bangkok. I'll also add that the smoked ribs are the best local style ribs I've eaten. It's not far from the Sky Train station of Thong Lor. Here's a map.

Hard Core Thai Food

Above is the bean known as Sator in Thailand (or Peteh Petiah in Indonesian or Stink bean for some English speakers or Parkia Speciosa in Latin). I speak OK Thai and it is never complimented as well as my ability to eat local food so when the locals go over the top a bit on epicurean compliments for eating rotting fish bits in Papaya salad with plutonium grade chillies and crabs, I usually play it down by saying I can't eat Sator. It has a distinctive bitterness and allegedly stinks like methane though I've never smelled that.

Well life moves on and in my neighbourhood the food is so varied and extraordinary that I'm still trying a new dish every couple of weeks even though there's a list of favourites always to hand. A few weeks ago I accidentally ate the Sator bean in a typical Southern Thai style young coconut meat, stir-fried chicken number with garlic and I am now nuts about this bean (sic). It's an embarrassment. I'm now queuing up mid afternoon in case this favourite dish is on the menu. Any later and it's sold out. I complained to the local vendor that I need a little more certainty in monsoon rain conditions and he replied that his menu is a surprise every day.

I responded that's the problem. I'm exactly the same.

Anyway I'm mildly amused that two decades on I'm still making further inroads into Thai cuisine and that apparently nothing is really permanent for me. My food, my politics, my lifestyle, religious beliefs, philosophies, newspapers, shoes and clothes. I would say sexual preference but I really didn't know she was transsexual in the beginning. Fabulous surgery. Could happen to anyone.

It's all been up for grabs hasn't it? I apologise if my hyper-mercurial qualities have caused offence, confusion or upset to anybody in the past. It's not intended.

Pigs Buried Alive

Is this who we really are? How long can this kind of thinking continue? Indeed how long can we continue to daily wrestle our consciences away from the important matters under the pretence that we have no other option?. Are you part of the problem or part of the solution? At least watch it and have a clear moral position.

Deferred Gratification is Psychopathy

You all know the model. Leave the kid in the room with the Oreo or whatever and the ones who can defer gratification are later found to be more "successful" in life.

Bullshit (Just look at weasel beard above). That's not success. That's psychopathy.

It's industrial scale, corporate-brainwashing and nutmeg-psychology that flies in the face of of the very essence of being a human FUCKING being.

I mentioned it back on Rob's blog a couple of days ago that the change from arboreal, fruitarian, peaceful and (ahem slightly orgiastic - yay for SEX) Homo Sapiens of an honourable and inspirational nature compared to the 21st century mendacity of homo mutatitis that hoard their grain and self implode on the metaphysics of attempting to temporarily own the perma-unobtainable, through war and coercion that leaves half the planet glued to the the carpet-embedded-sofa, cheered on by a TV & Fossil fuel Drug dependency while the other half are out in the fields on the other side of the planet,  tilling the soil for mere pennies a day while oscillating geographically and in a temporal sense from exhaustion into starvation and back into exhaustion again to grow food for "me me me" and not themselves.

Is this the poetry of deferred gratification?

Put off today what you can industrial-strength kill off tomorrow?

Surely the very essence of enlightenment is to live in the intelligent and harmonious moment instead of breeding a species that shit-hoards, spits on frugality, wastes 40% of it's food, crushes its global brethren and celebrates this as toxic material-science enlightenment?

Do me a favour. Eat that fucking pancake kiddo and live in the moment while we the supposed adults figure out how to take care of the urgent problems of today instead of breeding a child who becomes professionally psychopathic at ignoring and deferring the impending ecocide debt-blowback.

British Raj

I wouldn't post this if it wasn't first class interview material. Nobody likes to be lectured and Raj Patel has a gift for conveying a lot of information, in a compelling manner with admirably restrained finger pointing yet candid picture painting on possibly the most important subject for our species.

Even if the subject matter isn't quite of interest, please watch it and let me know if my judgement is awry. One caller goes on a bit long but in fact has something very revealing to say about how Corporations use monoculture to send prices crashing then buying up the land on the cheap.

Food For Thought

Some lovely soul had this in their feed and I don't recall who, which is a shame because I'd really like to connect a bit deeper with them? Is it you? Leave a comment please.

This TED talk came out in 2007 and I'm surprised I haven't seen it before. Not because I've seen all of them. But because it's the most robust case I've seen argued and presented at TED connected to this topic. You may recall that only recently I was switched on to Raj Patel and his ideas on food sovereignty, and so this is now two exemplary videos on a subject that is integral to our future unless you've bought into that monoculture vision peddled by Monsanto that the Gates Foundation is unfortunately investing in with a view to making profit out of hunger. (Zizek is so right on charity)

I heard a lovely quote earlier today. The people who want to sell you a nice smell are not interested in you. I think that's most interesting in light of the lovely touchy-feely Old Spice work which was responsive, warm, humorous and most importantly championed a seminal dialogue/real-time tone-of-voice (look at him, now look back at me) which could be tapped into later for what is now considered a text book case study for social media in marketing.

OK.... I've been interrupted and lost my train of thought so as I want to come back to paragraph above later. I'll just leave it up there as it will be useful. I hope it's not too distracting but if you find it confusing..... well just be grateful I haven't started mucking around with digital William Burroughs narrative cut up experiments. Not sold? No I don't blame you. Sorry about that.

So my point about this video is that it's so well argued I'm surprised it hasn't surfaced in my lifestream before. What it has done for me this morning is begun to coalesce further, some ideas on marketing, 21st century branding and most importantly reconciling that gap between wealth creation and consumption that nags at my amygdala like a rodent in 1984

I wont dip into the structural imbalance of capitalism and growth (I know I'm knee deep in Marx again) but what I will say is that this video re-enforces the point about food being pretty much the only link in the chain which can resolve the full spectrum of 21st century  impending doom.

From  diseases like type two diabetes epidemics in the USA and India, global obesity and starvation (an imbalance capitalism can't fix despite sufficient food being the hallmark of the 20th century) and say the extraordinary influence of big agra, big pharma, big retail and fast food (and yes I still see great work for McDonalds in all this which is why I love them).

That's a tall claim but if, and if is a fucking huge word I know too well, but if we took all of those things really importantly, and actually we do but we're freaked out by the scale of our individual thoughts vis a vis planetary action. If we we're serious about nailing on the head some of the most pressing challenges of our time then what you and I next put into  our mouths, by hand or by silver cutlery, it doesn't matter. What you put in your mouth is the most influential consideration to make as a consumer ever I'd go as far as to say that once in control of that the word person is a much more powerful noun though we can settle on citizen if you wish.

Problem is, as I know all to very well from putting weight on a bit too quickly for my own liking. If self control over our own body mass is hard as hell to control. Then what chance has collective change got? Slim chance right?

I think there is a way though, and this video just nailed it a bit further for me. I hope you watch it because as I think things through I know I'm going to be asking for your input. I certainly don't have a hope in hell without it.

Bloated Asia

I'm really pleased to have come across this today as it stimulates some of my own thinking and saves me boring you with too many words ( OK Andrew?). A little background for my motivation on this subject is that each time I walk past local schools, as the children are piling out, I'm noticing that the number of fat kids is rocketing and in some instances constitutes the majority of the students.

Obesity is a problem now, and it only took one generation to make the jump.

The leap between skinny and irreversibly fat kids took only a few short years in Asia. I've noticed it from Beijing to Manila but here in Thailand it feels particularly poignant as I remember a time when 7-Eleven had hardly any dairy products and people didn't know what cheese really was. These days if I want to re-conjure up the elegance of a thin and beatiful race from the early nineties I need to head out into rural Thailand closer to the villages and the paddy fields, where I'm magically sent back to that bygone era. One where rice is the staple diet and a few morsels of meat with lots of vegetables keeps them looking so fabulous.

As an adman I find this troubling and yet another hurdle (on top of sustainable wealth creation) to reconcile doing good work with good intentions.

Paul French who I've long admired as a thoughtful China commentator is interviewed here by another China afficianado Jeremy Goldkorn about his new book Fat China. They both dissect the issue in a manor which is contextually interesting even if you're not in Asia but interested in adding dimensionality to what's going on with expanding waistlines of the Occidental races: Europe, U.S and Australia.

The most compelling point for me if you can't spare 10 minutes to watch is that, we advertisers idealise children as chubby when selling to Mom children's food and drinks, and  yet when they turn to 'Pepsi' teens we suddenly try to sell them the Heroin-teen-chic matchstick-thin lifestyles when biologically the toothpaste is out of the tube if one is serious about reversing the obesity process

This is morally wrong and a point I hadn't thought of before; one I'll never let slip by again.

WTF

I was clicking around as usual on the net recently and noticed a new bar/restaurant/gallery in town called WTF (Wonderful Thai Friendship). No shit, but I felt an immediate sharp stab of cold creative jealousy that I hadn't realised what an insanely great name our internet acronym could be till someone else had snapped it up.

Anway WTF is the new hip hangout in town on Sukhumvit 51, Alley 7. I knew it was gathering steam when I was invited to join their Facebook group by P Tik who I interviewed earlier at WTF but ran over the 10 minutes that Youtube permits. I'll be splitting that later to post up here too.

As ever with these things, I also learned that I knew Som & Chris the owners of WTF and was really delighted to find that the art was good and provocative so I took advantage of the opportunity to interview Som about their new anti-establishment with a video installation in the background that was made by Jim Brewer on the topic of Yellow in Thailand. I was aware of his idea because I know Jim and he shared it with me some time back as out of nowhere (sort of), the wearing of yellow in support of his Majesty became ubiquitous every Monday. I explained it all back here in 2007 with what seems like a slightly prescient post though it isn't rocket science if you think about it.

Anyway this gusto for the colour diminished somewhat as over time the colour polarization of politics in Thailand became very sensitive with the now widely understood association of Red for the rural  impoverished classes.

The recording is a crap unfortunately because first I'm rubbish at thinking about sound, and as it's an art gallery on the 2nd and 3rd floor, it echoes too much to hear my questions so turn down the base and play with the treble if you can. I hope though that you can pickup Som sharing her new tapas, bar and art gallery concept and also talking a little bit about art in Bangkok and specifically Jim's work which is going on the background. Most interesting was the revelation that Yellow trainers were banned in Thailand as the feet are considered the most lowly part of the body to associate with anything let alone anything Royal.

She also talks about the stiff reaction that many of her Thai gallery visitors had about the video installation and their demands to know which farang (Westerner) artist was responsible for it. Anyway WTF is the kind of place that supports art as stimulus to discussion and is to be applauded loudly and embraced heartily for that alone, though the owners, clientèle I met, (Hi Andrew that was mad, call you soon) bar and tapas menu are enough reason to go and check them out.

Unless you wish to avoid me in which case that's all very understandable.

This Bangkok Post article covers the art much better than I have done here.
